About the event

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.  On June 19, 1865 Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free - two and a half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. Today we clebrate this momentous event as Juneteenth. The City of South Fulton Juneteent festival will be held on Saturday June 18 at Wolf Creek Amphitheater from 1 pm - 10 pm.

Enjoy Cultural Performances with Drummers, African Dancers, Stilt Walkers, Professional and Community Performers. The kids will not want to leave the Kids' Zone with the Bouncy Houses, Game Truck, Interactive Safety Village, Jump Rope and more...
